CARTOON NETWORK Europe changes image

The Spanish company Ink Apache, which, since it´s foundation in 2004, has colaborated with Cartoon Network, has been selected to bring about the changed image of the animation channel at a European level. "The film Cars had entire sequences where the animation and rendering of tens of thousands of cars was required. This presented a unique challenge, especially in the case of the racetrack stands. We needed a way to render the sheer volume of characters in the stands, and also to animate each character so that it looked unique and non-cg. There were literally hundreds of car variations created to add interest and make the world more realistic."

As CG Supervisor on this film, Dayne Cowan describes the various methods and techniques that we used to create a digital Gotham city using the real city of Chicago for the film Batman Begins. It will cover not just the construction of the digital buildings, but all of the set dressing elements constructed to convincingly turn Chicago into Gotham.

Integration of CGI characters in Real Images productions

In this conference, Jon Uriarte is going to explain the integration processing of CGI images with real image used for one of the last projects in which Bren Entertainment worked. It is a film co-produced between the Argentine company Patagonik (producer of films like “Son of the Bride”, “Kamchatka” or “Nine queens”) and Filmax Animation.

Design of multiplayer games and online communities

Fernando Piquer will first of all deal with the nature and definition of MMORPG –Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game- and then take into account concept definition (game mechanics, game balancing) with their corresponding elements, as well as character design.

Finally, he will go deeply into the various exploitation strategies within the existing world of multiplayer games, including player attraction, creation of critical mass and construction of communities.
