CARTOON NETWORK Europe changes image

Antonio Morales
Creative Director
Ink Apache

The Spanish company Ink Apache, which, since it´s foundation in 2004, has colaborated with Cartoon Network, has been selected to bring about the changed image of the animation channel at a European level. In keeping with this task, Ink Apache has produced the greater part of the on-air promotion involved.

Elements of traditional 2D animation are fused with 3D backgrounds in this new image of Cartoon Network Europe.

The most original and innovative aspect of this is the concept of community, a universe developed around an enormous virtual city in which all the characters of the series live.

In the same way as in any other city, spectators discover bit by bit, by means of spectacular 3D animation pieces, the most emblematic places in the city, from the Town Hall to supermarkets, hairdressers, cleaners, and more than 200 different sets where the amusing stories included in the daily programmation are developed during the emission of different series and programmes.

The creation process of this revolutionary television concept has been long and laborious. Among the eminent worldwide postproduction companies, which have participated in this process, figure Animalogic (responsible for special effects in such films as The Matrix), and the Spanish company Ink Apache.
