Located at the extreme northwest of the Iberian peninsula, facing the Atlantic, it is an historic maritime city with mild climate. Its coastal hinterland is characterized by pleasant estuaries, high cliffs, and numerous beaches.
One of the most notable images identified with A Coruña is the several and varied types of balconies on the facades of the many 19th century houses. Due to them, A Coruña is called “Glass City”.

A Coruña: "The city where nobody is a stranger".
