Within the International event Mundos Digitales  taking place in A Coruña (Spain) from July 7th. to 10th. , 2010, the animation competition includes:

This competition is open to all creations of animation in short format, produced and/or created for non commercial purposes after January 1st. , 2009.

Participation in the International Festival of Animation Mundos Digitales is FREE. There is no entry fee.

Material may be sent by POST or WEB (more info: www.mundosdigitales.org).

The deadline for receipt of entries is May 28th. , 2010 together with the following documentation:

The material selected for inclusion in the Official Programme of Mundos Digitales International Festival will be deposited in the festival video library with possibility of exhibition as promotional audiovisual material of the event , for non-commercial purposes. Participants authorize the organization to use excerpts from the films or stills for this purpose. The organisers reserve the right to project all works sent for the competition during the event.

The format for pre-selection will be DVD or Blue-Ray in PAL or NTSC. Schools submitting more than one short of the same category, may send the material in one DVD or Blue-Ray, but must complete a registration form for each entry.

The shorts can be submitted in any language but, except in cases where they are in Galician, Spanish or English, these must be subtitled in one of these three languages. Shipping costs of material sent to the Festival are the responsibility of the participant. Mundos Digitales cannot accept or assume responsibility for damage or loss of material submitted.

If the material is sent by web, it must comply with the following requirements:

The finalist for each category will be made known from June 7th. , 2010. These selected shorts will be included in the Official Programme of Mundos Digitales and presented during the awards ceremony.

The Official Selection of the Competition will be made by a jury composed of audiovisual creation media professionals named by the festival organization.

The Festival Organization will cover travel and accommodation costs for attendance of Official Prize Finalists at the Awards Ceremony (one per short). Likewise, all of them will be given full passes (one per short) to attend all activities taking place during the event (conference, workshops, projections, etc…).

The Prize awarded to the winners is a trophy:

Located in the extreme northwest of the Iberian peninsula, facing the Atlantic, it is an historic maritime city with mild climate. It´s coastal hinterland is characterized by pleasant estuaries, high cliffs, and numerous beaches. One of the most notable images identified with A Coruña is that of the several and varied types of balcony to be seen on the facades of the many 19th century houses, for which A Coruña is called "Chrystal City".
