In the last GDC Epic Games released a short movie called Reflections made in collaboration with NVIDIA and ILMxLAB.

This movie shows the real time ray tracing technology Epic has developed during the last years, and from the first day it was perceived as a watershed moment for the film and tv industry, that points out photorealism in real time is just around the corner.

In this talk Juan Cañada will explain how the movie was done, what were the main challenges and how they were faced. He will also explain how real time ray tracing will impact the future of digital content creation and what are the barriers that should be broken next.
