Dirk started in animation in the 1990s in Germany. He worked his way up to production manager, not only in his native country but also abroad. He founded several studios until he created the B-Water Animation Studios brand, which has grown steadily with offices in several countries. 

In his professional career he has also worked as a director of TV series for TV channels such as Nickelodeon and ZDF, and has successfully written comics and children's books. His comic Geoge & Cool had 2 million readers per week for 5 years. 

One of his latest books The Magic of My Name has sold over 500.000 copies to date.
