Matthew Shumway is an Academy Award-nominated Animation Supervisor who has achieved the vision of filmmakers such as Alejandro González Iñárritu, Ang Lee, and Ron Howard. As one of ILMʼs most versatile and experienced animation supervisors, he most recently oversaw Disneyʼs upcoming live-action/animation hybrid feature Lilo & Stitch, bringing the much beloved blue alien to the real world. 

For the film, he was responsible for overseeing the development and motion style of the major animated characters, including Stitch. Shumway was also on set for principal photography to ensure the cast would understand and perform properly opposite a CG character. In post-production, Shumway led a global team of animators to bring the animated characters to life.
