In this presentation they will show how they tackled one of the most demanding sequences of Culpa Tuya, the most watched non-English speaking film in the history of Amazon Prime Video. It involves a car race that runs through more than 160 shots, with a combination of practical shooting, visual effects, simulations and compositing, all developed under a tight deadline and to a high standard of quality.

The sequence posed both creative and technical challenges: the shoot was shot with vehicles other than the final ones, which involved meticulous skin replacement, matchmove and lighting replication. They also had to recreate a drone digitally, design a complete accident and simulate a crash against a marquee, all credibly integrated with the real material. It was a choral work in which each department had to do their best to maintain visual and narrative coherence.

Each shot was a small challenge in itself, with custom solutions that included precise digital reconstructions, complex animations, physical simulations and fine-tuned 3D/2D integration. The team's commitment and coordination were key to maintaining the energy of the scene without the viewer perceiving the trick.

During this presentation they will unpack how everything was planned and executed: from the LiDAR scans and initial previsualization, to the post-production workflow, last minute adjustments and key decisions that made the difference.

An opportunity to peek into the ins and outs of a highly technical action scene, told from the real-life experience of those who carried it out.
