Enrique Gato is a leading director, screenwriter, and animator in modern animation in Spain. A technical engineer by training, he began his career in the video game industry before making the leap to film, where he founded Lightbox Animation Studios and the Lightbox Academy to professionalize the sector.

His major success came with the creation of Tadeo Jones, a character who first appeared in award-winning short films before starring in a feature-length trilogy that broke box office records. He also directed Capture the Flag, enabling Spanish animated cinema to compete for the first time with major international distributors such as Paramount Pictures.

Throughout his career, he has won 7 Goya Awards, establishing himself as a technical and narrative leader. His work is distinguished by combining technological rigor with family adventure stories, elevating the quality of 3D production made in Spain to a global level.
