David Blanco began his career as a composer and motion graphics designer, later specializing in visual effects.

After an initial stint at Lightbox Animation Studios on Capture the Flag, he joined El Ranchito, where he worked for five years developing volumetric effects such as fire, smoke, and explosions on productions like Game of Thrones: The Long Night (S8), Locke & Key, and Shadow and Bone (S1).

He later returned to the world of animation, working as FX Supervisor at Lightbox Animation on Tadeo Jones 3 and contributing to the third season of Love, Death & Robots. He then made the international leap to WetaFX as an FX TD, working on projects such as Black Adam and The Last of Us.

He is currently FX Supervisor at El Ranchito, where he has led the effects department on several episodes of the second season of Halo, on films such as The Bluff, and served as CG Supervisor on the fifth season of The Boys.
