Virtual production is a tool that is becoming more and more established in our productions and often, without us realizing it, in processes that are not directly associated with shooting on the physical set.

In this presentation we will see how this technology has been applied in the award-winning Netflix production Society of the Snow. Manuel Ramirez, Virtual Production Supervisor of the movie for El Ranchito, will explain in detail not only how the Valley of Tears was recreated for its visualization on the screens of the film set, but also how a digital double of the entire real location was used to plan in detail the shooting, months and months before it took place.

With a Bachelor in Computer Engineer, in his twenty years of professional experience, he has worked as a computer engineer, multimedia artist and, web developer. Manuel started in the VFX industry in 2003 at Next Limit. After that, he was a Project Manager at LaNetro Zed and in 2007 he set up his own company, Oddmood.

Since joining El Ranchito's team in 2015 as an FX Supervisor, Manuel is currently Director of Studio, managing & coordinating the 3D, 2D areas, FX, Pipeline and, R&D. Optimistic, intuitive, creative, analytical and, conciliatory, Manuel has demonstrated his talent in projects such as Game of Thrones, A Monster Calls or See.
