When people ask me about my favourite part of the job, I admit it’s a bit geeky. I love the moment when I get to tell someone about a show that doesn’t yet exist and that one person gets to imagine and believe in it for the first time. That’s the joy of pitching. It’s also a key step in turning ideas into production finance and distribution deals.

But even before the pitch, there’s the genesis of the idea. That part makes me nervous, the pressure of wondering if I’ll come up with anything good. Over time, though, at Gigglebug, we’ve built a strong culture for nurturing early-stage ideas. Programmes like our Idea Labs and Idea Incubators are all about helping each other create concepts that stick.

In this talk, I’ll take you on the journey from that very first spark to the kind of pitch that gets greenlit and share what we’ve learned about turning early ideas into something the world wants to see.
