Stitch is one of the most beloved animated characters. Reimagining him for the live-action screen was both an exciting opportunity and a tremendous challenge. As fans ourselves (myself included), we felt a deep responsibility to honor the original spirit of the character while also meeting the expectations of a new generation. We were especially mindful of the incredible legacy established by Disney Feature Animation, and we aimed to do justice to their remarkable work.

In this presentation, I’ll walk you through the journey of bringing Stitch to life. From early concept development and design iterations, to the on-location film shoot in Hawaii, and finally through the extensive post-production process involving hundreds of talented artists and production teams. 

In every step of the process, we operated as a VFX Ohana, a family united by passion, creativity, and a shared love for this character. Stitch may be from another planet, but it took a global team to bring him home.
