In this talk, Rafa will trace his development and career as an artist, from his early days as a traditional sculptor working in clay and marble, to his transition to digital creation, bringing characters to life in films, video games, TV series, documentaries and more.
We will learn throughout this journey, how anatomy has been not only a passion but a constant pillar, enabling him to delve deeper into the creation of believable and expressive works and opening the door to teaching anatomy to artists and even future doctors at medical school.
He will discuss how this combination of traditional and digital techniques now enables him not only to create digital content for visual effects, but also physical effects through the engineering of moulds for animatronics.
Finally, we will explore how he applies these tools in the creation of physical educational products and in teaching, bringing art and science together in new ways.
