The main challenge: integrating into a series with an already well-defined visual language and ensuring that every simulation of blood, guts, and bodily destruction maintains the level, and the personality, that fans expect.

The team will discuss how they approached research and reference gathering to build the series’ signature gore, dynamic layouts focused on the behavior of intestines, muscles, and guts, and the development of setups capable of answering a key question: How should a human body “explode” within the universe of The Boys?

The presentation will also delve into optimization challenges, the differences between procedural workflows and ad-hoc solutions for each shot, and how to balance efficiency and artistic control. In short, a technical and creative look at El Ranchito’s “bloodbath” in The Boys.
