People say that learning something really well takes at least 10,000 hours, but even at 87 years of age, the great maestro Miguel Ángel continued to recognize that he was still learning.

In the field of Character Art is not only possible that we never get to know everything; but it is sure. On this basis, we can be negative and drop out, or we can try to use our time to focus on the most important things, the ones that will give more power to our work, the ones that will never go out of fashion.

And here we get certain foundations of our forefathers, the whole history of art, which, although if it seems impossible, can still be applied to what we do on our computers, even if we work on orcs, zombies, humans or creatures in general.

In this talk, Carlos Sastre and Paloma Alperi will try to convey these concepts, which are the key to making a work not only good, but also beautiful. And with this we refer to artistic education, its foundations and principles, so universal that they can be applied to everything.

Of course, we must not ignore the technique, being up to date and knowing the software, we can save a lot of time and get those "fireworks" that come to top it off, and make that what was previously unthinkable, can be done. For this reason, we will also mention our most valued personal tricks, because, even if we cannot learn everything we are going to try!

With 8 years of experience in 3D and in the sculpting area, and 6 as Character Artist, Paloma currently develops her activity as a freelance, combining it with her job as a trainer at CEU San Pablo.
