What is the role of VFX in advertising? What are the biggest challenges that professionals must face in this sector? In a world in constant change, that challenges are increasingly demanding.

In this panel we invite you to learn a little more about the VFX in advertising through the experiences of three leading VFX studios. The difficulties that have been encountered in the process of creating advertising campaigns with great repercussion will be discussed. Seeking the limits, adapting to change, reorganizing the sector, dealing with different customers, competing globally ... These are just some of the issues that will be discussed in this debate.

Jordi Barés

Jordi studied Architecture in Barcelona and also worked in software engineering and animation before joining Jim Henson’s Creature shop, The Mill, Realise Studio and Glassworks. After 10 years at The Mill, Jordi eagerness to reinvent the way to design and craft visual effects has led him on an incredible journey to Glassworks where worked together with some of the best visual effects

Jordi has picked up numerous BTAA Craft Awards, multiple Clio Awards, a D&AD yellow pencil, and gongs at the Australia Effects and Animation Festival, Australia′s Young Guns, London International Awards, for work including the commercials Sony Balls, Sony PlayStation Mountainand Toohey′s The Quest.

Ramón Artemán

Ramón Artemán joins the post-production sector in 1984. After ten years and due to one of the regular crises of this sector, he works as a freelance until 1995, along with Juan Ramón Canosa, he decided to found Metropolitana. In that moment, he discovers that management can be as exciting as operation.

Gabriel Garrido

He started his studies as an advertising graphic designer to get closer to what he has always been passionate about, the extraordinary thing of being able to unify different visual techniques such as photography, animation, design and composition, achieving that they coexist in ideal harmony.

In the last fifteen years he is part of the great team of SERENA as Senior Flame Artist and VFX Supervisor. He has participated in projects for important brands such as Vodafone, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Cepsa and Toyota, among others
